Annual matchup is Monday, August 13 at Four Winds Field
SOUTH BEND, Indiana (August 13, 2018) – A team of athletes at LOGAN known as the LOGAN All-Stars will take on the South Bend Cubs in an exhibition game Monday, August 13 at 4:15 p.m. LOGAN staff and volunteers will be on hand to support the LOGAN team at the game, which takes place just prior to the South Bend Cubs matchup against the Lake County Captains.
The exhibition game is part of LOGAN’s Friends and Family Night at Four Winds Field—an annual outing for the people LOGAN serves, family and supporters of the regional non-profit. LOGAN provides services and supports to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“This is a game our All-Stars team really looks forward to,” said Matt Harrington, President and CEO of LOGAN. “We started the LOGAN All-Stars several years ago because many of our folks are interested in baseball, particularly South Bend baseball. We put together a team of athletes and asked the South Bend Cubs if they’d be interested in a game. It’s become a wonderful tradition and a great community partnership.”
Sponsors of the All-Star game are Mutual of America, Gurley Leep and the South Bend Cubs.
General admission tickets are available to the public. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.; gates open to the general public at 6 p.m. The gates will open for LOGAN Friends & Family to watch the All-Star game at 3:45 p.m. Media is welcome.
Since 1950, LOGAN has reached out to friends and families with help and hope through advocacy, resources and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization invites people in our community to join in this mission by opening their doors and their hearts to Discover the Potential in all of us.
