Five men from LOGAN were among those honored Wednesday at the 30th annual Disability Employment Awareness Luncheon in South Bend. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of South Bend, the luncheon spotlights employees with disabilities and their employers.
Joseph Lee Wingo, the keynote speaker, shared his story about overcoming hardship and discovering his life’s purpose.
LOGAN Community Employment Honorees
Those honored from LOGAN, and their employers were:
- Sedric Andrews, Applebee’s;
- Bobby Hatten, South Bend WoodWorks;
- Zach Timberlake, Texas Roadhouse;
- Andy Szalsi, McDonalds; and
- Cade Clark (not pictured), Wendy’s
The five found their jobs with help from LOGAN Community Employment.
October is recognized nationwide as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg joined the Rotary Club at the luncheon to celebrate a workforce often overlooked, workers with disabilities.
