Update On Re-Opening Suspended Programs

Friends & Family, Over the past two months we have faced many difficult decisions regarding how we best address the issues surrounding COVID-19. During that time we have committed to making data-informed and expert-guided decisions, establishing specific criteria for us to use as we determine what is best for LOGAN and the individuals we serve. I continue to receive data and guidance from local and state officials who are the most knowledgeable in what is still an ever-changing pandemic. Speculation is one thing we will not base decisions upon. Just read the news or look at social media and...

Heroes Among Us – a message from Matt Harrington

Friends & Family – I have a friend who is a respiratory nurse and therapist here in town.  Last week she left her family and went to New York City to work in a hospital and returns home tomorrow.  We hear stories like that on the news, but this one really hits home.  To me and my family, she is a hero. We need your help – a message from Joshua Diehl

Dear Families,  Autism providers and the families we serve have faced unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, we have been using every opportunity we find to advocate for support for our loved ones at both federal and state (Indiana and Michigan) levels.  Every once in a while, we will ask you for your support in this process. Michigan families – we need your help at this time. As you are likely aware, the intensive and largely face-to-face nature of ABA has limited our ability to serve clients, despite Michigan’s designation of ABA as an “essential...

Friday, April 10, 2020 Friends & Family, Today I share with you the difficult message that programs currently suspended will remain closed until at least May 3, 2020. Employees currently on temporary layoff will remain during this time. During this time period we will continue to pay both the employees’ portion and LOGAN’s portion of health insurance premiums for employees on temporary layoff. We are also maintaining all other employee benefits.  Thus far we have had 36 people accept re-assignment to our Residential Programs and are encouraging all employees impacted by the temporary...

Difficult decisions in a difficult time – an update from Matt Harrington

Tuesday, March 24, 2020 LOGAN Friends & Family, I write today to make two difficult announcements. It has been my hope that making these announcements would not have been necessary. However, developments in the past days and hours – including executive orders from Governors Holcomb and Whitmer –  necessitate my communication of these deeply disappointing decisions. First, we have decided to suspend all programs beginning tomorrow March 25, 2020 to April 13, 2020 except the following: Residential Services including Group Living, Supported Living and Family Supports Community Employment Pre-Employment...
