Special Opportunities for College Students

Best Buddies
Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with mental retardation by providing opportunities for socialization. The local chapter at Notre Dame matches Saint Mary's College, Holy Cross College, and University of Notre Dame students with LOGAN clients. Buddies and College Buddies get together twice per month for one-to-one outings and keep in touch through the week. Visit the national Best Buddies website.

Internship and Work-Study Positions
A limited number of Internship and Work-Study positions are available beginning each Fall, Spring, and Summer. Positions are either for academic credit or Work-Study pay for qualifying Notre Dame or Saint Mary’s students. Indiana University and Bethel College students may be eligible for academic credit internships.

Please contact Crystal at crystalp@logancenter.org. for current openings.

L'Arche Seminar
Each year LOGAN Center and the Center for Social Concerns at the University of Notre Dame offer a week long semester break experience to a L'Arche community. Students live in community with people with disabilities and share their lives.

ND\SMC\HCC LOGAN Recreation Club
Since the 1970's Notre Dame and Saint Mary's students have sponsored fun social events for LOGAN Center clients. Friday night bowling, dancing and Saturday morning recreation are popular. Campus pick-up locations have been arranged for your convenience. Please join us for a dance or share your creative talents at a Saturday Recreation.

Natural Ties
The University of Notre Dame chapter of Natural Ties fosters friendship and inclusion between people with and without disabilities. The college students naturally welcome a person with a disability into their life, introduce them to their friends, and include them in activities of which they are already a part. For club membership please contact Crystal at crystalp@logancenter.org. or (574)289-4831. Visit the national Natural Ties website.

Super Sibs
University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College students who have siblings with disabilities mentor children ages 8-14 who also have siblings with disabilities. The Super Sibs club meets approximately twice a month for group activities and discussion. Weekly, students contact their sib by phone or mail. For membership contact Crystal at crystalp@logancenter.org.

Tickets
Donate your Notre Dame sports tickets to LOGAN Center. If you will not be able to use your student or General Admission ticket for a home game, allow a LOGAN participant to use your ticket and enjoy the game.
