Amazing Friendships are Born Here
As a student, it’s hard to say whether you or your new friends will benefit more when you volunteer in one of these rewarding programs. College and high school students have been part of the LOGAN family for decades. And we’re especially grateful to have you.
As a member of Best Buddies Notre Dame you can change the whole world for someone simply by showing them what it it’s like to have a friend.
The Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s chapter of Best Buddies matches people from LOGAN with you and your friends to create supportive and meaningful friendships. As a ‘Best Buddy,’ you’re offering the experience of friendship to someone who may never have experienced it before.
Visit the national Best Buddies website.
SuperSibs is a University of Notre Dame/Saint Mary’s College service club that provides support and friendship to children who have siblings with disabilities. If you’re a college student with a sibling who has a disability, you can become a friend and mentor to your little Sib. As a SuperSib you’ll meets twice a month for group activities and Sib Chats. Weekly, Supersibs contact their Sib by phone or email.
LOGAN Recreation Club
Since the 1970’s, the Recreation Club has sponsored fun social events for LOGAN clients. Bowling, LOGAN Dances, and the Annual Camping trip are just to name a few. LOGAN Recreation is a wonderful opportunity for Notre Dame students to build relationships with the people we serve at LOGAN. Over the years LOGAN clients have made hundreds of friendships and many continue even after graduation.
Internship positions are available in various programs and departments. LOGAN works with interns from most area colleges and universities such as Andrews University, Bethel College, Brown Mackie College, Goshen College, Holy Cross College, Ferris State University, Indiana University, Indiana State University, Ivy Technical College and Purdue University, Saint Mary’s College and the University of Notre Dame.
Work Study positions are available to qualifying Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College students. Students help out with children or adults in various programs throughout the week and on weekends. Students can also be involved with special events, social work, clerical support, accounting, fundraising and marketing.
