LOGAN College Fair

"After High School - What Next?" a College Fair hosted by LOGAN and the Sonya Ansari Center for Autism, took place on October 10. Many interested families found resources, heard presentations, and viewed a new online resource tool to help their children prepare for college. Click here to access the College Planning Resource website.

A highlight of the College Fair was a power-point presentation conducted by Stephanie Hay, a graduate of South Bend's Clay High School and of the Pace Program at National Louis University in Chicago. Diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Stephanie is an inspiration to others with learning challenges to never give up. Her presentation will focus on her college experience at National Louis, a professional assistance center for college students with learning disabilities. Stephanie graduated from the two-year Pace Program last spring and is now in the university's transition program.

Gone Fishin'

LOGAN anglers spent a recent afternoon at the riverside home of Tom Kanczuzewski, president of Logistick, Inc. and Inovateus Development. In his back yard alongside the St. Joseph River, Tom built a pond called Kristel Springs, in memory of his niece having Spina Bifida who died at age 10. Tom stocked Kristel Springs with trout and made the grounds fully accessible. For the past 3 years, Tom and his family have hosted LOGAN clients at the pond, where everyone catches a fish and has an “official” photograph taken!

2009 LOGAN's Run

Hundreds of volunteers, tremendous community support, an outstanding FunFest, and a record number of participants (1242) highlighted the 6th Annual LOGAN's Run on August 1. Beautiful weather and the "best finish line food of any race" further enhanced the experience for all involved. Thank you to all our families, volunteers, and sponsors, as well as to the 150 members of TEAM LOGAN who walked the Good Walk. You are our inspiration.
