Help us transform an abandoned school into a vibrant Autism Learning Center
You asked us to come. So, of course, we came.
We brought LOGAN Autism Services to southwest Michigan in 2007. What started as home-based services for only a handful of families sprouted faster than Jack’s magic beanstalk. We doubled, tripled, quadrupled in size and kept growing. From four families to more than 70, plus a long waiting list, we were bursting at the seams in our temporary quarters at First Congregational Church in St. Joseph, Michigan.
You couldn’t wait any longer for us to meet the growing need, so we looked for a new home, one with more classrooms, more community spaces and more room to grow. After an extensive search, we found just what we were looking for at the former Stump School property in Benton Harbor — 18,000 square feet of interior space, 6.5 acres for parking, playgrounds and future growth. We purchased the property in January 2016 and broke ground for a major renovation. Then, in September 2016, we cut the ribbon and opened the doors to the bright new center! We’ve been adding families and services and continuing to transform the property ever since.
But, we’re not finished yet, and because we couldn’t wait to provide vital services to families, we took out construction loans to cover the costs. Please help us pay off the debt for this vibrant learning center by joining our capital campaign, For the Kids.
