Making Room for Friendships

At LOGAN, we believe making friends is powerful therapy for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities—and vital to emotional and physical development. It’s why we put so much time into our social activities. Trained volunteers work with our staff to plan and execute a variety of age-appropriate outings that focus on fun and companionship. We even have a unique volunteer club just for area college students to create friendships with your loved one that will last a lifetime.

Hang time

Hang Time is a great way to make new friends and hang out with your old ones. This group meets at LOGAN for a game and movie night. The cost includes pizza or subs and drinks. Participants are asked to bring a snack to share and are encouraged to bring games and movies to enjoy with your peers at LOGAN.

Ongoing and One-Time Recreation

We’ve created a full calendar of activities for young adults (age 18-26) and adults (age 26 and older) that provides structured social time as well as casual outings. Our activities are both indoor and outdoor, some are full of adventure, others take is slow. Our regular activities include Activities Night on Monday, Movin’ n Groovin’ (exercise) on Tuesday, Art Class on Thursday and Bowling on Friday. For a full list of current LOGAN social and recreational activities, see our online calendar for participation information.

Most of LOGAN’s social and recreational activities charge a small fee; however we never want financial worries to stop you from exploring all that we have to offer.
