The heart and soul of LOGAN revolves around advocacy for persons with disabilities. LOGAN lives this commitment daily through the Protective Services program. Protective Services offers the security that trained professionals and volunteers will be there with the right supports for individuals who do not have involved families.
In 1974, LOGAN took a proactive stance on advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities. Concerned about those who could not speak for themselves, many of whom were living in institutional settings without family involvement, LOGAN set up Protective Services, a model still perceived nationally as innovative and unique.
Protective Services now provides services to over 125 individuals. The diversity of those served includes those trying to live on their own in the community, people living in nursing homes without family support, and others who find themselves in crisis and in abusive or neglectful situations.
